Corescan and SGS entered into an agreement earlier this year where Corescan’s mineralogical imaging technology will be incorporated into SGS´ global laboratory network servicing the minerals and oil and gas industries.

The laboratory, which is constructed within a 20‘ sea container, is fully mobile so that it can be located on-site to deliver real-time mineralogical information directly into resource and production models.  The laboratory incorporates Corescan's latest hyperspectral imaging technology, coupled with ultra-high resolution core photography, core profiling sensors and Corescan’s advanced mineralogical processing and interpretation software.

“We are pleased to be working alongside SGS in Chile to continue the expansion of Corescan services throughout the country," said Corescan’s VP Business Development, Dr Brigette Martini. "This is the second laboratory commissioned under our partnership with SGS and represents first-access for our Chilean clients to the joint services and expertise offered by our partnership".
