Corescan and SGS entered into an agreement earlier this year where Corescan’s mineralogical imaging technology will be incorporated into SGS´ global laboratory network servicing the minerals exploration and oil and gas industries.

The laboratory is equipped with Corescan’s latest high resolution mineralogical imaging technology, coupled with ultra-high resolution core photography, core profiling sensors and Corescan’s advanced mineralogical processing and interpretation software.

The laboratory’s first port of call will be the SEG Conference in Keystone where it will be located at the exhibition centre (booth # 14).  Subsequently, it will be deployed into the USGS Core Research Center in Denver for a month before commencing commercial operations with SGS.

“We are very pleased to see our latest laboratory on its way to build on the exciting case studies already completed for our clients in North America“ said Corescan’s VP Business Development, Dr. Brigette Martini. “This is the first of a number of laboratories that we will be deploying alongside our partner, SGS, to ensure that we have facilities accessible to our clients in key mining centres“.
